2. On the bottom left is a link for the OverDrive Media Console software. Click
on this link and download the software. (Note. If you intend to download
ebooks, you must also download the Adobe Acrobat Reader software. The
link to this software is also on the bottom left of the R.E.A.D.S. website.)
3. Search the R.E.A.D.S. site and select the title you wish to download.
4. Click the add to cart link.
5. At My Cart click the Proceed to Checkout link.
6. At the State map click on the Reelfoot region.
7. Select Obion County Public Library from the drop down list and enter your library card number.
Click Sign In.
8. Click Confirm Check out. When you click this link the ebook/audiobook is
checked out and the loan period begins at this moment, NOT from the
time you download the title.
9. The title is now in your eBookshelf. It will remain there until you download
the title or until the end of the two-week loan period.
10. Click Download. At this point you will probably get a message saying you
must upgrade your security. See Required Security Upgrade below for more explanation.
11. If you are downloading an ebook, the Adobe Reader software will
automatically open and the ebook will remain in the Adobe Reader program
for the two-week checkout period. (Note: You can return an ebook.)
12. If you are downloading an audiobook, the OverDrive Media Console
software will automatically open. You will be asked into which folder you
want the file to be placed. Click OK. You will then have the option of
downloading some or all of the parts of the audiobook. Click OK.
(Note: You cannot return an audiobook.)

R.E.A.D.S. will NOT work with Apple iPods . MP3 Players only
A digital audio player (DAP) is a device that stores, organizes and plays digital music files. It is more commonly referred to as an MP3 player (because of that format’s ubiquity), but DAPs often play many additional file formats. Some formats are proprietary, such as MP3, Windows Media Audio (WMA), and Advanced Audio Codec (AAC). (taken from en.Wikipedia.org)
Website that lists devices that WILL work with R.E.A.D.S.:
www.playsforsure.com/FindPortableDevices.aspx
Most, perhaps all, MP3 players come with software that must be installed onto the owner’s computer. This software makes it possible to copy content (music, audiobooks, etc.) from the computer to the MP3 player.
