The Giving Tree

In the lobby of the Obion County Public Library is the “Giving Tree”. It represents the many generous gifts that have made our building and its furnishings and equipment possible as well as many library programs and special events. Your donation will help with future expenditures and will be reflected in the following ways:

Gift and Memorial Books

Giving a gift to the Obion County Public Library is one of the most sincere ways of honoring someone’s memory or paying tribute to them on a special occasion.

• Gift books may mark a loved one’s birthday or anniversary, pay tribute to a veteran or a person who is retiring or graduating or thank someone for a special contribution.

• Memorial books may pay tribute to a departed loved one or express your sympathy for someone who has experienced a loss.

Your monetary donation assists the library in providing books and materials to our patrons. For gifts of $25 or more, the library will place a bookplate inside the gift book. The donor may suggest a subject area from which the book will be purchased. Gifts under $25 will be placed in the general book fund.

An acknowledgement will be sent to the donor and to the person or family of the person being honored. The amount of the donation will not be disclosed and is tax deductible.

Book Donations

The OBION COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY accepts donations of “pre-owned” materials including book, magazines and movies/ DVD’s. Any materials that are not placed into the library’s collection are made available for sale to the public through the Friends of the Library’s book sales. Birthday Book Club

Dear Parents,

The Obion County Public Library Birthday Book Program is a great way to celebrate a child's birthday and help our library collection continue to grow. Participation in the program involves a $10.00 donation per book. You may choose a book from a selection we have purchased for this purpose.

A bookplate inside the front cover will have the child's name, birth date and the name of the person who gave the book. A smiley sticker will be placed on the spine of the book. The child will be sent a birthday card from the library telling them of this special gift and they have the honor of being the first to check out the new book.
