Regularly Scheduled Events

 

  • Preschool Story Time - Monday, 10 am - Puppet show, stories, snacks and playtime for preschool age children in the Children’s Department.

  • Sit and Stitch - Tuesday, 10 am - Bring your needlecraft projects and sit by the fireplace enjoying the company of other crafters. Sharing ideas and how-to’s is greatly encouraged!

  • Scrapbooking and Cardmaking – Thursday, 10 am - Paper crafters of all types are encouraged to bring your latest project, use the library’s die cutting machines and rubber stamps and share ideas and inspiration with other crafters. This group meets in the Teacher Resource Center. 

  • Children’s Story Time - Saturday, 1 pm - Stories are read in the gazebo inside the Children’s Department.

  • Book Discussion Group – Please check the Events Calendar for dates, times and titles.

  • Nifty Fifty Plus Bingo - Every 2nd Thursday, 10 am - noon, bingo and refreshments sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

  • Free Blood Pressure checks - Every 2nd Wednesday, 10 am-noon, sponsored by Baptist Memorial Hospital.


 

Summer Reading Program

 

Encouraging children and teens to read through out the summer.

 

Children’s Program:  A fun-filled five week event is provided for children aged pre-school through sixth grade. Readers (and listeners) earn prizes based on the number of books read. Click here for more information.

 

Teen Program:  Middle school and high school students can sign up for this program designed to reward them for reading books from the library’s large Young Adult and Juvenile collections. Click here for more information.
