Library Director, Obion County Public Library, TN

 

 

The Board of Trustees of the Obion County Public Library, Union City, TN, is seeking a dynamic director to lead and manage library operations for its 30,000 square feet state of the art facility in Northwest Tennessee. The director will manage a staff of 21 (11 FTE), a materials collection of 97,000 items, and an annual budget of approximately $600,000. The service area includes 32,000 people, with over 17,000 registered borrowers, 132,000 visits to the library each year, and an annual materials circulation of 172,000. The position requires an ALA-accredited MLS.  A total of 7 years public library experience is preferred.  The successful candidate will need a minimum of 4 years experience as an administrator or a department head in a public library and will have experience in budgeting and financial management.  Upon acceptance of the position, the director must reside in, or be willing to re-locate to, Obion County, TN.

Position open until filled.  Salary range is $50,000 – $55,000, based on qualifications and experience. A comprehensive benefits package is included.
