Meeting Room

A meeting room is available at no charge for community groups.  The meeting room divides into two separate rooms, each seating approximately 50.  Tables, chairs, audiovisual equipment and wireless Internet are available.  To request use of the room read "Obion County Public Library Meeting Room Policies and Guidelines" and submit the "Reservation Request Form". 

 


Study Room

One study room is available for small group meetings.  The room contains a table with seating for 8 and a white marker board.  To reserve a study room please submit the "Study Room Reservation Form".

 


Park and Grounds Usage

There is a lovely park located in the rear of the library available for community or individual use.  No private parties are allowed.  To request use of the park for an organization, please read our "Park Policy" and submit a “Park and Grounds Reservation Form”.

Display Case

The foyer to the library features a display case which is available to individuals or organizations.  To request a reservation to book an exhibit in the case, please read the Display and Exhibit Policy and Guidelinesand contact Curt True or call the library at 885-7000.

 


Art Exhibitions

The meeting room can be utilized to display art.  Collections are usually featured for 2 months.  To request a reservation please review Display and Exhibit Policy and Guidelines and contact Curt True or call the library at 885-7000.

Public Bulletin Board

The library offers a community bulletin board for posting notices and brochures which would be of interest to citizens of Obion County.  No items can be listed for sale or services for profit advertised.  To place items on the community bulletin board, please review the Handouts/Pubic Postings Policy and Guidelines”. All items must be approved by the library administration.

 


Interlibrary Loan

If an item you are looking for is not available from OCPL, it may be possible to borrow it from another library using Interlibrary Loan (ILL).  The following criteria applies:

  • Only 2 books can be borrowed at one time.

  • Author and title must be provided.

  • No DVD/VHS, CD/Audio books or paperbacks are available for ILL request.

  • Since we are a public library, we do not request academic materials for college courses.

Internet Access

24 computers providing Internet access and Microsoft applications are available to cardholders and visitors (those not eligible for a card).  All computers are connected to a laser printer; copies are 10 cents each. Wireless Internet access is also available for patrons who bring in their laptop computers.

 


 

Regularly Scheduled Events

  • Preschool Story Time - Monday, 10 am - Stories, snacks and playtime for preschool age children in the Children’s Department.

  • Sit and Stitch - Tuesday, 10 am - Bring your needlecraft projects and sit by the fireplace enjoying the company of other crafters. Sharing ideas and how-to’s is greatly encouraged!  

  • Scrapbooking and Cardmaking – Saturday, 10 am - Paper crafters of all types are encouraged to bring your latest project, use the library’s die cutting machines and rubber stamps and share ideas and inspiration with other crafters. This group meets in the Teacher Resource Center .

  • Children’s Story Time - Saturday, 1 pm - Stories are read in the gazebo inside the Children’s Department.  

  • Book Discussion Group – Please check the Events Calendar for dates, times and titles.

Scheduling Library Tours

Organizations, interested individuals or schools can schedule tours of the facility.  For tours, please complete the Tour Reservation Form or call the library at 885-7000.  

 


Reading Railroad

This is Obion County's program in connection with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. All residents within the county can sign up to receive free books for children from birth to the age of 5 (after a child turns 5 years old, they no longer receive books).  Both links below provide access to the program and open in a new window:

If you have moved after signing up in the program, Click Here and submit a change of address to us.  A change of address will delay books for 2-3 months.
