Circulation
Adult
The adult section of the library includes fiction, large print, and non-fiction materials. There is an Optelec magnifying machine in the large print area to assist those who are visually impaired. New materials, current newspapers, and approximately 200 magazines are located close to the coffee bar and main fireplace. The library also offers a wide variety of audio books on CD as well as over 2,500 titles on DVD and Blu-ray. The library works to offer a diverse range of materials. Please let staff members know of suggestions we might add to our collection.
Young Adult
The Young Adult section of the library contains a collection of fiction, non-fiction, magazines, graphic novels, and manga chosen for young adult readers.
The Obion County Public Library’s Teen Advisory Group (TAG) is a group of Obion County teens who are interested in helping the library choose materials and plan programs for their age group. For more information click here!
Children
The materials in the Children’s Department consist of board books, easy books, easy readers (ER), juvenile fiction, non-fiction, juvenile reference books, DVDs, and audio books.
Genealogy and History
The Tennessee Room, houses and extensive collection of resources available for patrons conducting genealogical research. Some of these resources are available both online and in the library.
Creative Resource Center
The Creative Resource Center is a collection of resources for teachers, homeschoolers, and crafters. The collection contains home schooling materials, bulletin board idea books, games, instructional aids, ESL materials, and a large number of Ellison dies.
Reference
The reference department of the library offers a large number of resources to help gain information. Many of these materials are located in reference stacks beside the reference desk. Others are available through assistance of library staff. Library staff can assist you by locating sequel books, directing patrons to website information, and providing information about local and government officials. Our staff can also assist with Inter-library loan and provide current pamphlets and brochures of local interest and patron needs.
